Supporting Ukrainian Government Bodies and Civil Society
With the continued support of the UK Government, SSS built upon Phase 1 and 2 of its Peace Support Project and continued its program focused on supporting Ukrainian government bodies and civil society. The purpose of this project was to restore access to social and economic rights, and restore access to pensions for conflict-affected populations.
The Liaison Officers (RADNYK) Programme includes 23 Liaison Officers (LOs) at the national and regional level, who provided training and consultations with over 8,000 representatives from local NGO's and CSO's, and officials from the social protection system, and increased their capacity to address Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) issues. SSS also developed and advocated for several legislative drafts that aimed to support the rights of IDPs.
SSS has worked together with Ukrainian governmental institutions and Ukrainian civil society institutions to support governmental reform efforts and the development of social services in Ukraine for IDPs. Serving Ukraine through its many examples of partnership, SSS has been able to co-create, model, and support sustainable changes in Ukrainian civil society.
